LISTEN: 5 Artists You Need to See at the Mile Ex End Festival

With the month of September comes the nostalgia of the hot summer days and all the amazing outdoor events we had the chances to attend. Fortunately, there’s still one big music festival this weekend and it’s in a fairly new outdoor venue: the Van Horne under pass. The first edition of the Mile Ex End festival as one impressive lineup but we narrowed down the 5 acts you definitely can’t miss during the weekend. And stay tuned for our coverage of the festival in the next few days !!

  1. City and Colour

Probably the biggest name of the weekend and to be able to see this artist in a small festival after he filled the bell center is quite exciting! Maybe we will hear some new material since Dallas Green hasn’t released anything since 2015.

2. Cat Power

Another artist who hasn’t made new music recently is Cat Power. Hopefully, we can hear some new work! One way or the other, it’s a promising performance and we can’t wait to see it!

3. Busty and the Bass

The band is returning to Montreal after their successful (but really short) performance at the outdoor stage of the Montreal Jazz Fest. Their music will certainly bring some funk to the mostly mellow lineup.

4.  Matt Holubowski

This artist doesn’t need any introduction since he is a favorite of the Montreal crowd. An outdoor show will be the perfect setting for this folk artist!

5. Charlotte Cardin

Another participant of ‘The Voice’ (along with Matt Holubowski) in this lineup is Charlotte Cardin. Her more R&B style will certainly make her stand out in this mostly folk lineup, but will be for sure appreciated by a lot of the festival goers!

Who are you most excited to see?!

Marie Claire Denis

Marie Claire as been a concert photographer for almost 10 years now! Always on the look-out for new music, she loves when she's able to discover the next big artist before anyone else. Her goal is to capture the best images of the artists in front of her and be able to give the viewers the feeling of being at a concert in the comfort of their home.
