LISTEN: Scarlet Fever by Skye Wallace

With a soft, gritty voice, Skye opens her newest track “Scarlet Fever” with ease. The Toronto-rooted Skye Wallace invites listeners on a journey to the northwest territory of Yukon, as she notes the track as “a rock song telling a love story set in the Yukon”.

This is the first taste of new music since the release of last year’s album Something Wicked. Skye is an embracing mix of folk, rock, and alternative sounds fruitfully coming together. The accompanying visual displays Skye re-telling the love story through grit and poise, see the visual below.

As you familiarize yourself with Skye, her previous tracks likewise paint a story sounding so sweet in time. I recommend flowing through her catalog including last year’s release to the 2013 release This Is How We Go featuring the enchanting track “The Bush Pilot”, you can expect a new full-length release next year.
